The Colettes forest, recognized as one of the most beautiful beech forests in Europe, is a privileged place of relaxation and refuge for many plant and animal species.
The circuit begins with a rapid descent to reach the village of Bellenaves. Just before the village, from a monumental statue of the Virgin (orientation table, picnic tables), the Bellenavois plain offers a wide panorama. The second part of the route follows the A railway line over the plain for 1.7 km then climbs steeply towards the pretty little village of Valignat, a privileged observation point over the surrounding hilly countryside. The relief then descends and climbs towards Chenevière, does the same towards Boussat, then begins a slow
ascent to the hamlet of La Roussille above a pleasant valley of meadows. At the gates of the forest, a narrow path finally leads quickly to the mountain bike base, by a succession of small climbs and descents.
