Is a well kept South facing village that overlooks the Marilhou gorges. In the church an unusual cross (16thc.) is decorated in low relief.
It needs to be mentioned that the church was used as a retreat centre by Capulan in the 6thc. It is said that this religious found tranquility at Val de Montiral above the Marilhou river, near to a spring miraculously gushing from the rock face. Further on you come across the Chateau de Montbrun (private residence) built in 1452 and rebuilt in the 15th and 19thc. Further on still you reach the feudal ruins of Chateau de Courdes. The Mars and Marilhou rivers run through Meallet, as well as the Meallet and Veysset streams.
