At the bend of an alley, sparkles “La Muse aux Ornements”, a small floral setting resembling a boudoir and cabinet of curiosities of yesteryear, of a jeweler in search of lost time. An ode to the 1900s.
Located in the heart of Combrailles in the Sioule valley, Mélanie Farges, Craftsman of Art Foundry and Jeweller, welcomes you to her workshop-boutique at 18 rue du Castel. The arrival of each visitor is for her the opportunity to exchange with passion around her profession, her artistic approach and her influences, as well as on the main technique that inhabits her work and which allows her to create her silver jewelry, brass or bronze: the lost wax casting process.
Anxious to "leave a trace of passing time" and to "capture the ephemeral beauty of plants", you will discover the result of several hours and days of work, which result from this sculpture technique.
Fixed in metal by ancestral know-how, stylized ornaments and timeless ranges of jewelery occupy the premises in a setting that looks like a boudoir and cabinet of curiosities of yesteryear.
Fascinated above all by the period of the "Belle Epoque" and the "Art Nouveau" movement which reigned from the end of the 19th century until 1914, it is in the historic district of St-Gervais d'Auvergne that you will find detour of an alley, opposite the renowned Castel Hotel, "La Muse aux Ornements".
