St Ferreol Church

Partage :

The first mention of this church goes back to 1266. It became part of the parish of Murat in 1598. It is partly Romanesque and partly Gothic in style and the church portal is quite ornate.

Ornate sculpted capitals support the weight of the archivolt at the entrance. The outside of the church is interesting and you can admire the Romanesque modillions. The church has a nave with two side aisles and a groin vault ceiling. The nave opens out onto four chapels and a Romanesque chancel and apse. All the keystones are sculpted and the rib vault edges rest on bases that are sculpted into heads. The altar and the gilded wooden tabernacle date from the end of the 17th century.
