Parc des Célestins is organized around the eponymous spring, known since the Middle Ages and still exploited today. Of the many buildings that succeeded one another in the 19th century to house the Célestins spring as it was tapped, the Pavillon des Célestins remains, designed in 1908 by architect Lucien Woog in the purest 18th-century French style. At the time, the marketing focus was not on the Vichy-Célestins labels, but on the evocation of the sacred through the Euville stone conch from which the spring gushes. At the rear, a block of aragonite set into the building provides a striking contrast to the sophistication of the glass bell protected by a pink stone balustrade. Probably a desire to make this miraculous water sacred.

The great destiny of a small spring - that's the story of the Célestins spring. The spring takes its name from the Célestins order (now dissolved), who in the 15th century were responsible for the health of bodies and the sanctity of souls. It was within the walls of their monastery that the spring naturally gushed forth, at the foot of the fortified town.
With the rise of Vichy's spa industry, notably under the impetus of Napoleon III, the name of Vichy acquired worldwide renown. Vichy Célestins water conquered the world, supported by the brand image of the Queen of the spa towns and the commercial expertise of the Compagnie fermière de l'établissement thermal de Vichy.
Les Célestins water is the coldest of Vichy's natural springs, with a temperature of between 22 and 20 degrees, indicating a slow reflux from the depths of the earth. Although no medical prescription is required for its consumption, it remains a naturally carbonated thermal spring water, and its sodium bicarbonate mineral composition makes it a valuable aid to liver function. Since liver function influences facial complexion, it has been said that its consumption confers a Célestins complexion, synonymous with good health.
Bottled, it is marketed worldwide, with over 40 million bottles sold each year.
