Historic site and monument

Saint-Martin church

Art lovers are spoilt when visiting the 12th c. Romano-Bysantine church St. Men. Its only one knave goes into the chancel spanning a hemispherical dome with a squinch supporting the steeple.

Partage :

The west door on the west side is considered to be a prototype of the region, with a pattern of diamond shapes and volutes adorning the strap hinges. A few years ago were revealed several 13th c. murals depicting St. Georges fighting the dragon, St. Martin sharing his coat with the poor and showing evangelist symbols all around Christ. A magnificent stone statue of the Virgin from the 13th c. is listed as Historical Monument.
