Saint Jacques Church

Partage :

The St Jacques des Blats chapellency was mentioned as far back as 1378 but texts referring to the church only appear in the 19th century.

The church was restored and enlarged in the 19th century. It is built in neo-Gothic style in the shape of a Latin cross, with a groin vault ceiling, a polygonal apse to the south and a narthex to the north.
The church cross dates from the end of the 16th/beginning of the 17th century. Sculpted in volcanic rock, this Latin cross has a slightly raised surface. On the front there is a sculpture of Christ on the cross between a star and the sun. On the other side there is a sculpture of the Virgin and Child between two floral patterns. There is also a sculpture of St James the pilgrim.
