Located at the top of an eminence dominating the current town of the Dungeon, the chapel is considered to be the oldest place of worship in the parish, around which a nucleus of the primitive population would have developed.
Since 1788, it has been surrounded by the parish cemetery. This modest-sized building consists of a single nave extended by a chancel bay and a semicircular apse. The nave, covered by a high saddle roof, was built in the Gothic period, while the eastern parts date back to the Romanesque period. The arcade bell tower was added at the beginning of the 20th century. Inside, a magnificent frame, made of the hull of an overturned boat, covers the very luminous nave. In 1903, the whole building benefited from a complete restoration. A decoration, of neo-Gothic inspiration, is present on the murals of the choir and on the historiated stained glass windows.
