- Art in exile, Hàm Nghi, prince of Annam (1871-1944).
The life and artistic production of Hàm Nghi (1871-1944), emperor of Annam (Vietnam) exiled by the French to Algeria at the age of 18. He never returned to his homeland. Throughout his life, he practiced painting, sculpture, pastels and drawing. Hàm Nghi was the first Vietnamese artist to be trained by French painters and sculptors. He was a regular visitor to metropolitan France, including many visits to Vichy.
- Mission Protection.
In an interactive scenography, you'll experience the universal dimension of the exhibition. The quest for protection is timeless and worldwide. Objects of protection, statuettes of protectors and recourse to specialists demonstrate man's desire to control his destiny.
Civilizations exhibited, ancient and contemporary: China, India, Japan, Nepal, Indonesia, Philippines, Madagascar, Ethiopia, D.R. Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Nigeria, Burkina-Faso, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Niger.
This exhibition highlights the museum's collections and new donations.
