The museum, settled in the fortified castle of the Bourbon Lords converted into prison, offers a travel through our local history to visitors: skeleton of the fossilized rhinoceros dated from 23 millions of years, Gallo-Roman god with mallet, Gospel book of the IX th century, diverse representations of the life during the XIX and the XX centuries: rural and bourgeois inside, saddlery, horse-drawn vehicles, museum of the Resistance. The Carolingian Gospel book, hand-written book on parchment, the most prestigious piece of the museum, can be read on an interactive touch screen. The museum has the designation of "Museum of France".
