The largest artificial lake in Auvergne is 13 km long and covers 563 ha of the former Cère valley. The beaches of Rénac and Espinet offer a wide range of water sports activities.

Fishing activity (2nd category = mainly predatory fish): A top spot for carp fishing! Fishing license required: Daily (€13), weekly (€36) or yearly permits (€86) on sale at www.cartedepeche.fr or from the above stockists including the Tourist Information point in Laroquebrou.
2025: Rainbow trout and spinycheek crayfish allowed all year round, pike from 01/29 to 04/26, zander from 03/11 to 05/24, largemouth bass from 05/13 to 07/05.
