From Saint-Hilaire, the route wanders between pasture and woodland, then descends into the Lacot and Boron valleys, before offering wider expanses and more open horizons - the landscapes of the bocage. Beautiful views of the Sancy.
/ Go downhill on a track to the right, cross the D227 and join a small road; turn left along this for 100 metres. Turn left as far as a faint junction under a power line.
/ Turn left onto the track between two hedges (view of the Combrailles to the south). At the T-junction, turn right onto the D988. Follow this road to the right for 100 metres and take the small road on the left. At the entrance to the hamlet of Bellirat, turn left and then immediately right. Go downhill, cross a stream (the Boron) and climb back up. At the fork in the road, turn right as far as the first houses in Lenchère.
/ Turn left and go through the hamlet. At the crossroads, turn right and go down towards the Boron stream. Climb up to reach Viorennes. Turn first right, then immediately left. Join the Lacot stream. Follow it along a balcony, ignoring the paths to the right and left, until you reach the intersection with the D103E (Le Manéchal).
/ Go left for 150 m, then turn right. At the next two junctions, continue straight ahead (with a view of the Combrailles). At the road, turn left onto the D227.
/ Turn left and take the path parallel to the road on the right. Cross a road, turn right onto a track, walk alongside a pond and continue straight ahead. At the crossroads, turn left, walk alongside a second pond and take the track opposite. At a livestock building, turn left, join the D988 and follow it to the left. After the ‘Saint Hilaire’ sign, turn right and continue straight ahead along the track. Take the road on the left and then the grassy track on the right to get back to the starting point.
