La Roche de Saint Roman

Partage :

Quand les roches sont mystérieuses et qu’elles s’en prennent aux fillettes… La tradition orale des légendes est encore bien vivante ! Profitez du panorama sur la Margeride et les 3 Sucs, puis de la Tour de Colombine.

Description détaillée

Departure - Church parking lot. Go up into the village of Molèdes to take the Fondevialle road. Cross the road and turn left onto a dirt track that climbs steeply. Cross the road and follow the gravel path opposite. Beautiful view of the Monts de la Margeride, the three sucs and Mont Journal. Turn slightly right and follow the spruce trees.

1- At the crossroads, turn right along a pine forest. Reach La Besseyre.

2- Cross the road, then turn right onto a grassy track leading downhill. Cross a fence. You come to a meadow and then a wood, at the end of which the descent is steep. Come out on a flat track.

3- To reach Roche St-Roman: turn left, then right at the fork, continuing uphill. This site features the ruins of a small castle with earthwork and a large moat, dating from the 11th / 12th century. Go around the rocks to the right to gain access to the ruins. Retrace your steps and continue along the path. Cross a stream to reach La Bastide. Cross the hamlet and follow the road.

4- At the crossroads with the D155, take the right-hand road for 1.3km. Pass by the Tour Colombine, an 11th-century watchtower.

5- At the bend, leave the road and turn right into the meadow, crossing the fence. This takes you around a small summit on the right. Cross the fence again and take the path out of the meadow, which takes you back to Molèdes.
