Welcome to Montcel in Puy-de-Dôme.
In the heart of Auvergne, between lakes and volcanoes, Fred and Gilles welcome you to La Clémensarde for a peaceful stay, in the countryside yet close to all amenities and leisure activities.
This house was ours a few months ago. Previously it was the house of Mémé Clémence, grandmother Fred. She, who bore her first name so well, she was so gentle and calm, knew how to reassure us by treating us to her apple puffs cooked slowly in her stove.
We then decided to renovate and live in this small country house. During 2000-2001, it was “dismantled” from everything, there were only the 4 walls and the roof, then everything was rebuilt to our liking. We wanted to combine elements such as wood, stone and iron while combining styles, colors, etc. This house grew with us, with the children, Célien, Antéo and Léandre.
Today we offer you a “vintage” atmosphere with family furniture to which we are giving new life, offering 3 real single rooms with double beds, one of which is family oriented since it also has 2 bunk beds.
One of the bedrooms (the one on the ground floor) is equipped with a sink and a shower, allowing easier access for people who are a little less mobile.
The living room is spacious, with a large table, a sofa and 2 armchairs, opening onto an open kitchen which has an adjoining pantry and toilet. The kitchen equipment is “like at home”, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee maker, teapot, food processor, Nespresso machine, etc. everything is there.
Upstairs the two other bedrooms await you as well as a bathroom (thalasso bathtub, 2 sinks, 1 bidet). On the other side of the corridor is a toilet.
Finally the “magic” room, in the attic, without partitioning, it represents the floor space of the house. This room has 2 double beds, sofa, armchair, TV, but above all it is the space dedicated to children, to magic, taking up the Harry Potter theme and some related decorations. This is where children can gather, play, and dream of not growing up! For those in the know, we could call it the “room of request”, but it will rather be the Minerva Mac Gonangall room, heroine of the saga, a true concentrate of courage, rigor, kindness and accuracy: perhaps even the will you meet in real life, because our kitty, nostalgic for home, regularly comes begging for some kibble. Her name is Minerva!
Access: we are located 5 km from a motorway exit which opens onto the 4 north-south and east-west axes. Paris, Montpellier, Bordeaux less than 3.5 hours away, and Lyon 2 hours away.
Hobbies :
- the first paths are a few hundred meters away, for hiking or mountain biking,
- beaches are also accessible less than 10km away (Gour de Tazenat). A little further away you will also have access to “navigable” lakes or reservoirs for paddle, windsurf, or on the river (swimming, canoeing), etc…
- Visits: very close spa resorts, historic towns (Riom, Murol, Clermont-Ferrand, Vichy, etc.), Vulcania Park, Le Pal Leisure and Animal Park, Cezallier Animal Park, La chaine des puys, a wide choice of lakes to discover, a multitude of natural sites in Combrailles to discover without restraint, and of course gastronomic discoveries (cheese platters, charcuterie, etc.)
- We are concerned about the environment and use green household products, composting and permaculture. We also educate our visitors about water management, respect for the gîte, turning off lights when rooms are unoccupied, etc.
