The Gayette dungeon dates from the end of the Middle Ages. In 1698, it was given to the Saint-Jean de Dieu brothers as a hospice to welcome the poor. Today it is a nursing home.
The chapel was built in the 17th century at the eastern end of the building to extend the current retirement home. Its dimensions are unusual: they take the form of a vast, almost square room. It has a funeral crypt. It was extended by the sick room. The interior is adorned with stucco panels framed by Rococo style moldings, as well as Louis XV style woodwork.
