Every year, thousands of visitors stroll through the narrow streets of the village to reach the Billy Fortress, immersing young and old alike in the history of the Bourbons.
And what a history! This fortress, which rose from the lands of the Allier Valley, takes you on a journey through time. In this world apart, filled with mystery, you'll set off in search of its character houses, its not-so-ordinary well, its auditorium, its captaincy... and it's in a chivalrous way that you'll set off to conquer this dizzying fortress.
Enter the intimacy of this fortified city to experience or relive history. Preserving heritage doesn't mean being frozen in time, but rather making it accessible to a wider public.
A guide will tell you all about the history of this emblematic site, and once you're on the ramparts, keep your eyes peeled for a breathtaking view of the Val d'Allier.
