Discovery tour of the south of Combrailles - Through history

This road tour invites you to discover heritage sites dating from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. Exceptionally preserved, they revolve around the Archaeological House of Combrailles, which exhibits the archaeological remains of the area.

In addition to taking you back in time, this 33 km circuit integrates viewpoints and natural curiosities to help you discover the landscapes of the south of Combrailles. The Archaeological House of Combrailles de Voingt offers this circuit in the form of a guided tour.

Stage 1: Dolmen of the "Pierre Fade" (St Etienne des Champs) - Dolmen of the 3rd millennium BC.
Stage 2: Archaeological House of Combrailles (Voingt) - Exhibition space which presents the rich archaeological heritage of the territory.
Stage 3: The Gallo-Roman site of Beauclair (Voingt) - Remains of the Gallo-Roman village.
Stage 4: Castle mound of Giat (Giat) - Castle mound from the 11th century
Stage 5: Collegiate Church of Notre Dame d'Herment (Herment) - Romanesque collegiate church of the 12th and 13th centuries.
Stage 6: Promenade des Murs (Herment) - Walkway of the old Castle.
Stage 7: The "rock of the three pies" (Herment) - Rock piles on the banks of the river.
Stage 8: The Butte de Puy-St-Gulmier - Basaltic hill which offers a superb viewpoint to complete this circuit!
