The St. Amand Chapel (11th-12thc.), located near the castle of Sourniac, is in fact made up of the Romanesque chancel and part of the nave of the previous parish church.
The 15th and 19th c. additions were later destroyed in 1937 and a new church was built in the actual village of Sourniac. The chapel has been listed to the I.S.M.H. since 1983, and it is regarded as the smallest and oldest religious building in the region. It may even have been built as early as the 10thc..
