Description détaillée

Maurs lies at the south-western tip of Cantal. This medieval town invites you to admire its abbey church of St Caesarius and its reliquary bust. Head for the gorges de la Rance and discover the Chapel of Notre-Dame-du-Pont (13th and 15th century frescoes) and the Château d'Entraygues (18th century wallpaper, listed as a historic monument). As you make your way through the woods, you'll come to the fort of Leynhac, a medieval village currently being restored. Your route will continue towards Calvinet (Château de Lamothe). We recommend a diversion to the Maison de la Châtaigne (chestnut) in Mourjou. You can then admire the many panoramic views. Visit the double village of Saint-Santin, with its two churches and two town halls. What makes it special? It straddles the Cantal and Aveyron départements! Then return to Maurs via the village of Saint-Constant.
