An artistic work, the ASTER project, by the artist Delphine Gigoux-Martin, is installed on the vault of the Saint-Étienne-Cantalès Dam.
Glazed ceramic starfish are fixed to the dam. Under the glare of the sun, they shine and create a starry sky. At nightfall, stars with photoluminescent enamel take over. The sky that could be seen above the dam on 8 May 1945 is juxtaposed with the sky of the southern hemisphere: a map of a starry night of freedom regained, in unison throughout the world. These constellations are joined by cartoons projected on the wall, triggered at nightfall. Each day of the week corresponds to a cycle, turning the dam into an open-air cinema.
The show is visible from the Aster viewpoint, on the north bank.
