Vernassal is a village built on a small hill around the church. It was first mentioned in a document called the Chamalières Cartulary in 969 A.D. Picnic area with 4 tables.
A road through the forest is accessible to cars and leads to the start of several signposted hiking, horse-riding or mountain-biking trails through the forest.
