Church of the Holy Cross

Free visit. The Sainte-Croix church, of neo-roman style, was built in 1881.

Partage :

This building with three naves ending in apses, without a transept and with a bell tower on the facade, is distinguished by the layout of the buttresses of its side naves located on the inside, which form a recess in each bay capable of receiving an altar or a confessional. An earthenware tile from Gien (1884) decorates the tympanum of the side doors. The bell tower houses a 900 kg bell, classified as a historic monument, which used to belong to the former Saint-Pierre-de-Vouroux church. A painting signed Fernand Blayn in 1886 (IMH) represents the burial of a young girl and an unidentified village.
