This track crosses the Chabridet wood. You will be able to contemplate the south-eastern slopes of the Monts du Cantal and the Brezons valley. Then, discover the amphitheatre-shaped town of Pierrefort.
Duration of the tour: about 2 hours
Start in front of the Pierrefort Tourist Office opposite the church. Follow the D990 towards St-Flour.
1 - Behind the gendarmerie, turn right and follow the rue de Bellevue straight ahead in the housing estate.
2 - Itinerary not practicable from November to April: snow cover. At the HLM, turn left towards the Grande Halle, then Saint Gervais.
3 - At the St Gervais stadium turn left onto the Roman road, Bois de
Chabridet.
4 - Go straight through the wood.
5 - At the end of the wood, turn left and follow the edge of the wood.
6 - Be careful when you arrive on a road! Follow the road to the right for
300 metres.
7 - Be careful when crossing the road. Take the path on the
left.
8 - Be careful, when you arrive on a tarmac road, follow it on the
right.
9 - In the straight line, leave the road and go up by the track on the
left.
10 - Be careful when you arrive on a road, follow it on the right towards the village of Trénac.
11 - In the village of Trénac, turn left and go straight up towards the
straight on towards the lake of Montrozier.
12 - After the lake turn left and go up into the wood, cross it
straight ahead.
13 - Beware arrival on a road in a curve! Cross it
and take the path opposite.
14 - At the crossroads, take the second path on the right between two low walls.
15 - When you reach the road, follow it to the right and cross the village of Boussac.
16 - Leave the road and follow the path on the left which arrives on the heights of Pierrefort. Attention stony and technical descent on approximately 50 meters.
